Later Life Financial Advice

When living in your existing home has become difficult or unmanageable, perhaps due to health or mobility issues, it may be time to consider alternative arrangements.

It could be that assistance at home or home-help is the solution and the local authorities can provide you with help and advice. Indeed local authority funding for care in your own home is an option that may be available, but often a more permanent alternative which provides more certainty for the future is needed. This may require that the family home is sold in order that capital is released to fund the arrangements.

Securing the right accommodation may include purchase or shared ownership of a home within a community environment. Residency will incur additional costs over and above the initial capital outlay, typically including regular maintenance and service charges in addition to day-to-day running costs.

Midas IFP understand the complexities and anxieties involved in financial planning for later life and can offer a range of help and support and which may include, if appropriate, preparing a financial plan to assist you.

This can be a most difficult time for the family, involving considerations which, whilst practical, can often be very emotional. Our membership of SOLLA – The Society of Later Life Advisers, provides the accreditation required to offer the most appropriate advice.
